Flat Art File Cabinet

This cabinet was created for a quilter's studio. The height dimension was designed to match that of the sewing machine table. Since the studio was a signature part of the quilter's home, she wanted a showcase cabinet that was not only functional but would also fit the aesthetics of the room, especially since it is the very first thing seen when entering the home. It was built with spruce pine, soft-close drawers, and a red mahogany finish. The top serves as a cutting surface, made from a custom, butcher block laminate, counter top surface. The large drawers on top provide oversize storage for extra large portions of partially assembled quilts.
